DII Kitchen Millenium Microfiber Kitchen Towel, Set of 6 Review

My wife purchased these and is writing the review. She hoped these would be similar to her old DII MICROFIBER towels, purchased at Amazon last year and no longer available. Those previously-purchased DII towels, as well as some recently-purchased DII plain cotton towels carried a "DII For The Home" label. This set of towels being reviewed has a cheaply-printed "no-brand" label on the towel and nowhere does the packaging say "DII Home Essentials" (as they are advertised) or indicate any relationship to the popular DII line/company. Instead they are made by "Kitchen Millenium" and, when washed, each edge rolls toward the body of the towel and also shrinks up and down the whole length of that border. So, once washed, they are unsightly and a nightmare to use because you cannot flatten them out (remember your old rag-bag items). I wish I had read the other "1" review because I agree completely. (The DII microfiber towels I bought at Amazon last year lie flat out of the dryer every time.) Very disappointing. Oh, and they are not 16" x 24" but, brand new out of the package, 15.5 x 23.25" This is the second Amazon purchase in the last 2 months that has been advertised as a name-branded item and arrived as a substitution with a non-branded knock-off item.

I bought these in red and it was a huge mistake. As soon as they got wet the color bled everywhere. I am still bleaching things that were turned pink from them. It was still not safe to wash them with other items even after multiple washes, so I ended up just throwing them out.

I have washed these towels several times. They still bleed red dye when I wet them and wring out by hand. They have bled all over my other towels, even though I washed them several times by themselves in cold water and white vinegar. More trouble than they are worth.

Ordered this about a month ago. It was intended to cover 1/2 of a double sink for extra work area. I was very surprised at the quality. VERY heavy duty and meant for long life and durability. I liked this Item so much, I ordered a second one today to use as a workboard on another counter. The packing was awesome. The only suggestion is if they could find a substitute for the massive amount of "puff foam" that is non-recylable.

I wasn't sure what to expect quality wise considering I paid under 70$ but it arrived today and I am very impressed, the stone is polished to perfection, the coloration is gorgeous and it's incredibly heavy, which I like because now I won't have to worry about my work surface shifting while rolling out doughs. The only difference between mine and the one in the picture other than obviously being a different piece of stone, is mine has sharp corners and the one in the picture has rounded. Tips for prospective buyers: this is not a cutting board, it is a pastry board so don't use knives on it (I'm sure cookie cutters are fine, but no sharp blades. with a little TLC this item will last generations). If you don't think it's cool enough just chill it in the freezer for about 15 minutes.

EDIT: just wanted to add on, that I used this board for a particular candy recipe which requires pouring 260 degree liquid onto a FROZEN marble board, to be honest I was TERRIFIED that the thing would explode from the temp differences, but it did just fine!

I really love this pastry board. I bought it for my partner, who does the baking and he loves it. It keeps it temperature very nicely, and it is HEAVY! He chills it in the fridge, and then works with it. It cleans up nicely, and it has little rubber buttons on the bottom that prevent it from scratch the counter or moving around. Really substantial piece of kitchen equiptment. I highly recommend it! And it is beautiful.

I'm not a picky guy, really. My reviews are generally straight to the point and I'm PRETTY easy to please. After reading the reviews for this, I held my breath and ordered. The piece came EXTREMELY well packed and was not broken. HOWEVER...it was more than 1/2 inch off on one length and about 3/4 on the other. For where I was going to put it, that makes a big difference. Also, after I opened the outer carton and cut the tape on the 4 sides of the inner styrofoam carton, I lifted the top off and there as a razor blade sitting on top. I was pretty shocked and ticked off. Am I going to return it? No. It IS a great solid piece, just know that if you're looking for a pastry board in a SPECIFIC size for a SPECIFIC need, you may not get it. And BE CAREFUL in unpacking!

I returned these towels. They are very small and quality is rag-like. First time they were washed they had small holes in them! They do look like they would be very absorbent---they are fluffy, almost a chenille-like fabric but looks-wise they are bad and if they got holes on first washing, not sure what they would look like later. I used these towels to dry dishes, and they leave so much lint behind that I do not want to eat off of the plate. I certainly would not serve a guest from a plate dried with one of these mops. I have used bar mops regularly for years, and I have not seen anything like this.

I have put the towels through the washer and dryer 5 times, and they are still leaving too much lint. Literally handfuls of lint are coming out of the dryer with each cycle.

Sorry, but I cannot recommend these towels.

Whew! I finally found a suitable flatware chest! After a couple failed attempts at chests that claimed they'd fit at least 16 place settings and extra serving pieces required, I am happy to say the search is over! If you're still searching for a flatware chest, you know how hard it is to find one that happens to fit that magic number of place settings and all the serving pieces you have in your collection. There are 3 Reed & Barton chests of this sort. I ordered the "Arlington" because it was slightly larger than I needed (16 place settings and lots of serving pieces), and I'm glad I did. Although I do have a little room to spare, this set does the trick. Regardless of the leatherette construction, it's of surprisingly nice quality and has heavy duty zippers, canvas, and snaps for closure. Well worth the $100 I paid for it (Neiman Marcus and plenty of others, charge lots more).

I ordered the Eureka Arlington flatware chest made by Reed & Barton. It is advertised to

hold 200 pieces of flatware and 36 knives. The chest is of good quality but on the right

removeable tray there were 11 slots not 12. Amazon shipped a second chest which

was defective.

I called Char Crews and they had this case with the 12 slots. They also found they had

defective cases with 11 slots. Even though the cost was higher, it was easier than

returning two defective cases.

Reed & Barton has many fine products but they need more quality control.

My 12 setting silver set had overwhelmed the original wood chest long ago. Serving pieces, butter knives, fish service, and dessert spoons were being stored separately. It was a nuisance to set the table. This chest has ample room for a twelve piece setting with all the extras. It is well made and completely covered inside and out. The leatherette is unlikely to scratch your table or buffet. It is light enough to easily carry to wherever you are setting up your service. A year in, my silver is not tarnishing, so it is ready for use at a moment's notice. I purchased a second one for my good stainless set. I would not recommend stacking them as the cover is soft. You would risk damage when you pull one over the other. I have deep adjustable shelves in my buffet and I have each chest on a shelf of its own. This has freed up drawer space for other miscellaneous small serving items (e.g, napkin rings) that used to be boxed and forgotten at the back of those shelves.

I agree with the first 2 reviews, truly this is a worth while product to have if you have a juicer. I also have a Norwalk 275 and a Omega 8006. I use the Omega for juicing during the day and the Norwalk for making a weeks supply of juices. At first I thought I was just going to use the juicing buddy for my daily juicing but to my surprise it out performs the press on my Norwalk, " The king of juicers". I have had a few accidents and corrected by putting 2 door stops under the rear that raised the rear 1/2 inch. I can now see the juice roll forward to the drain while pressing. If you press to hard and fast the juice will spray out of the cloth. This unit may have been made in a garage but as far as I am concerned the quality and workmanship is 2nd to none. I like the wood look and I proudly have it sitting next to my Norwalk. I laughed when on one of the previous reviews the buyer mentioned that his doctor got mad when he found out that he was juicing for his mother. Over the years my now ex-wife has had 2 tumors removed, one from each breast. A short while after the second one was removed another one was growing in her other breast. I bought a juicer and made one for her every night of apples, carrots, beets, parsly and chard. Six months later her x-rays were clear, it was gone. You would think the medical staff would be happy for her but as I recall, my wife said they almost looked disappointed. I would like to close by saying that the Juicing Buddy is the best bang for the buck that I have received in a long time so buy it....

Addendum #1 One of the most common complaints that the Juice Buddy's competitors have is that when the maximum pressure is applied, the ram will get stuck and is very hard to break loose. You can review some of these complaints right here on Amazon. The Juice Buddy solved this problem with the 2 retractor springs under the pressure plate and it works great. I have been buying through Amazon for years and this is the first time I have ever written a review. I live in LA and I do not have any stock in the company :) I only want to help you make the right choice.

My juicing goes back to 1978 when I bought a Norwalk Machine to save my mother's life, which the Norwalk did. She was 62 then and lived to be 83. Before her Norwalk her doctor gave her no hope because her body was fat, sick, and nearly dead from toxemia. The doctor got angry when he found out she was drinking fresh squeezed vegetable juice ala Norman Walker. I warned her not to tell him because it removed him from his throne. In the mean time I have owned and used every type of machine, and the hydraulic press is a must. Only with a hydraulic press can you see the white minerals on the bottom of a jar of juice that has been standing in the refrigerator for a few hours. Now I own two Omega juicers, the 350 Vert and the Omega Big Mouth 330 both sold on Amazon. Since I bought this very inexpensive Juicing Buddy-Hydraulic Juice Press from Amazon my omega juice is even better than with the Norwalk. The juice comes out of both machines cool instead of heated, and when I press the seemingly dry pulp with my new press I get the nectar that otherwise clings to the fibers. I am able to add a full cup of nectar to two quarts of juice, and the nutrients in that one cup outweigh the nutrients in the two quarts. No fiber in my juice anymore, like the old days before we wore the old Norwalk out. The maker of this press has found a very cheap way to make an excellent press for very little money and passes that value on to me and you. I am very glad he made this excellent product available to us. It is everything it is represented to be and more. Don't let the wood construction make you shy, it can take 4000 pounds of pressure, much more than the Norwalk machine driven press.

Got my Juice Buddy The day before yesterday in the mail Sep 27th. Took 12 days from order Sep 15 to delivery Sep 27, Not very quick being as we needed to get juicing, as my wife is following Gerson and needed to have a press after being diagnosed w/ stage IV cancer... So a bit Po'D over that( but probably some of USPS fault as well). Have been hand pressing my juice for over a month,because money is tight and had to shop for a deal on a press and finally found one on Amazon, really could have used quicker shipping option for the money spent. Definately the slowest shipping on Amazon in my 6 years. Secondly, I have read all the reviews and feedback on the Juice Buddy before ordering, during the extra long wait time for delivery, and now two days after it has arrived. I am certain I read some other very recent reviews/comments about this item and delivery times and reviews and comments of the Juice Buddy, that were dated in September, but seem to be all but gone now, dont know where they went, but there not here anymore....So maybe mine wont be either, But here is my Honest Opinion as a purchaser/user of the Juicing Buddy?

Well the Juice press that showed up here, looks like the one pictured (A+), but the release handle was a small piece of cut plywood with a hole drilled in it and hotglued to the jack release(F), it snapped off the first time used,without much force at all, so now am using the jack handle to release and tighten, and does not look like the release handle in picture. The "magnet" thats supposed to hold the top plate in place(C+) really doesn't do very well, but tenatively works, the bottom plate with the hotglued tube for draining popped off the second time I washed it(in between carrot and apple pressing)(F).. The jack itself does not work correctly, as I jack up the press, when it gets to the pressure of pressing, it puts resistance back on the handle pushing the jack handle back up with force. I use jacks amost every week on leveling floor joists, cars and trucks, and setting bearings and when you jack, the jack handle should not go back up on its own and hold pressure against the handle. The two pressing plates are really just stove burner covers, but, they work pretty well for what they are. The rest of the set up seems to be somewhat sturdy, but i get ALOT of popping noises from the springs and wood when pressing... And Be CAFEFUUL, if you are not holding the whole unit in place with your free hand when jacking/pressing, it WILL tip over and make a mess..There is NO WAY MY WIFE who is sick could mange this piece by herself, NO WAY. I believe this is going back for refund and I think I need to save for a more refined piece.. It was a good idea for sure, and with bit a more work could be a great product, but more work for everyday use seems to be in order..Bottom line. It does Press Juice, But, it is alot of balancing and holding and fighting and tipping to pour the juice out to do so. I got my press recently. It came well packed and protected with all the parts that were promised. Great handling and shipping service!

The press itself is very strong and nicely assembled. The stainless steel plates are robust and well finished; the top one has a magnet that holds it in place. The jack underneath the plates is incredibly strong leaving the pulp very dry.

I don't have any concerns about this press but only positive feedback: I recommend this product and the seller. Thanks for making this product at a reasonable price compared to the Welles press/Peoples Juice Press the difference in price is huge.

my first time juicing-began reading about the work of dr Gerson -his books talk about the norwalk press, but it was way out of my price range when i saw the juicing buddy, i thought this is a good place to start-i was not particularly fond of the wood finish since i have a modern kitchen but i asked to have it stained black and it looks absolutely beautiful in my white kitchen on a black granite counter

it is so VERY EASY to Use and to Clean and i am happy that i am getting the extra juice which seems to be much purer than that which the juicer alone produces

I know now that i have the wrong juicer a centrifuge model but i am awaiting my new champion juicer which grinds the pulp but even so,from what i have read juicing alone is not enough -that both juicing and pressing the pulp produces the most and best quality of vitamins and enzymes. Therefore, i needed a press and was fortunate enough to find the Juicing Buddy at an affordable price works greatand looks great

I am extremely pleased with my juicing buddy and after reading the other reviews, find myself lucky that i did not have to spend so much money for the norwalk when this one does as good or even better job

Buy 40" Masslinn Dust Cloth in Yellow (8 Packs of 50 Towels)

Masslinn.

It's a wonderful thing. I have worked at over a dozen nuclear power plants and at government nuclear facilities for over 30 years. If they have anything in common, it is masslinn. Masslinn is used as a wipe to test for contamination, as well as a method to remove contamination. This is my job and I generally walk around with a piece of masslinn folded up in my back pocket. My bad luck, sometimes I forget to take the masslinn out and it finds it way home with me.

Masslinn is essentially an oil impregnated dust cloth. When used it picks up dust and leaves a slight shiny oil film.

What I use it for:

1) This is great for the inside of your car. It removes the dust and leaves a shiny dash board, seats, etc.

2) I use this as a general dust cloth for small items, such as my displayed chess pieces. I simply pick up each piece and roll it around in my hand.

3) I use it on furniture when I don't feel like polishing.

4) Coupled with a masslinn mop, this works great on hardwood floors, removing dust, making them look shiny when you don't have time to wax and the in-laws are coming over.

5. I use it to remove dust from wall photos, fans, end tables, chess boards. Until last week, I have used it on my analog projection TV screen and plastic color projectors. I have also used it on my computer screen, and it still works.

6.) I use it on old dull record LP covers to make them look better. I suppose it might work on old baseball cards.

7.) This is great for all kinds of leather. I use it on my Easton Press leather covered books.

The masslinn cloth is double sided for extended use. Also they don't dry out like those wet cloths. You can leave a pack open for years and it will still be effective. The cloth is super strong, but tears in one direction by hand, very easily.

WHAT IT IS NOT:

1) This is not an absorbent. It will absorb some water. That is not its intended use. Water that comes in contact with masslinn for an extended period of time will turn yellow.

2) This is not a wipe for your kid or a napkin for your face.

3) This does not remove grime or ground in dirt. It is not a Swiffer Wet Jet. I have used both to clean and decontaminate linoleum. The Swiffer Wet Jet works better than masslinn. If you want something to remove the dust bunnies on your floor, the masslin mop will work.

4) It does not disinfect, although things look so shiny clean you would think it does.

A box can last years.

I have a white Nokia Lumia 920 and I have this case in clear for several months now. I really liked the clear TPU plastic, that this case has a great fit, and offers decent protection without being bulky. But, a couple of months later, I'm now disliking certain things about this case.

The Good:

1. A great fit without adding bulk.

2. Allows a better grip of the phone.

3. It provides additional protection agains bumps and abrasions common with cell phones.

4. The low bulk design allow me to still use a separate leather belt case easily.

5. The headphone jack, power port, mic, and speakers are easily accesible.

The Meh:

1. The buttons on the side are hard to use when the cover is on. I got aggravated enough that I took a Dremel tool to it and cut out the button holes. The buttons are sunk a bit in the depth of the new holes, but this provides protection while I have easier access. I personally think it looks better this way too.

The Ugh:

1. The clear TPU plastic has started get dingy on the sides due to makeup and body oils. Even after a soap and water cleaning, there's still some staining leftover.

2. The clear plastic RUINS your flash photography by reflecting the light back into your lens and clouding your images. I was wondering why my pics with the flash were looking so whited out when it dawned on me what was happening. My fix was to take a black Sharpie marker and blacken in the opening around the flash and lens. This quick fix did the trick and my clear plastic case now sports contrasting black accents. :) (The marker did bleed some onto the white plastic of my Nokia at first, but it cleans up easily and will stop doing that after a while.)

The clear TPU case fits great, offers good protection, and doesn't bulk the Nokia 920. However, the clear will interfere with your flash photography, the buttons are hard to use, and the clear plastic stains with body oils after a while. Thankfully, the case is cheap enough to buy over again as needed. Better yet, just buy a colored version and avoid the hassles.

These dish towels had been backordered, but quite worth the wait. Made from cotton and very hard to find (especially at this excellent price), they are perfect for everyday use as well as for drying finer china and crystal or silverware. Very little shrinkage after washing in hot water. I was pleased not only with the towels but with the seller as well, whom I recommend and will be purchasing from in future.

This is the type of towel I used when drying the dishes as a child, and when I was single. While I did use the terry dish towels my husband brought when we married, I never liked them as well as these. Now I have converted him. They are larger than terry towels and tea towels, which means you can hold even a large item with the towel and dry it with the other hand. No getting your hand wet while drying with a small towel and then using that wet hand to hold on to the part you just dried! These towels can also be used for straining things like yogurt and cheeses. Being plain white cotton they are easy to clean and can be bleached if necessary. I like to trim white flour sack dishtowels and give them as little gifts. These are good quality and the size is good. Have to admit I bought the same sized ones recently at Cost Plus that are slightly thicker and even better.

These are wonderful for drying dishes without leaving streaks behind or lint on glasses. Even good for washing windows, just throw in washing machine when done.

I was expecting something that would work well for a treat jar. It's hard to tell in the photos, but this is a very large canister. It has a nice clear lid so the insides are easily visible. The clasp keeps things fresh. But it was just way too big for treats or dog food for my 5 Lb Yorkies.

I ended up filling this jar with cat toys (bells, feathers, mice, etc) and giving it as a gift. It turned out really cute.

I really like the look of this canister. It was bigger than I expected. It can hold a lot of treats which is nice. The but... The latch sometimes comes out of the holes. It's just a matter of wiggling it and getting it back in and a pair of pliers should be able to squeeze it so it does not come out. I have not tried that yet. Also another review I read mentioned about the latch being slightly off center and it is. Not really a deal breaker but just want to give a complete review. Over all I like this product. It looks nice and it serves the purpose!

This was NOT a standard Kitchen Towel!

It is awkward for any use at all, other than drying your hands.

The towel I received is designed to hang over an oven door handle bar, and the packaging label said, "Hanging Tea Towel".

It has a double-layer AND folded-over end, with snaps to hold it on a wide oven door handle.

It is NOT WHAT WAS DESCRIBED ON "Wire Wisk's" web site. It does NOT look like the image on Amazon's web page.

It's beautifully made but because of the design, half the towel is too thick to fit inside glassware and the large snaps could scratch delicate china.

Used them yesterday, and I really like the larger size, however, they're not so thick you can't get them into glasses. Wasn't quite as absorbent as I had hoped, but I'm sure they will be after I wash them! The preservative treatment used on materials usually washes out fairly quickly.

These towels are FAR better at absorbing water than even my other 100% cotton towels (which I've now tossed), and they don't have the stupid loops that always pull out and look crappy after a while. Great stuff.
