I purchased these dish cloths in both the blue and yellow and I absolutely love them! For some unknown reason I've been experiencing sour smell in my cotton dish cloths even though I rinse and rinse and rinse. With these dish cloths I have not had that experience at all, and they seem to stay cleaner and smell better a LOT longer than the cotton ones I've used in the past. I highly recommend them!

I bought some of these 6 months ago and they were great. Then when I went to order more they said unavailable. Then they became available and I ordered 4 more packages....end of September. The new ones were a different color blue and I could see they weren't the same, but I didn't care if they worked. They are now unraveling more and more each time they are washed. They are obviously inferior quality. I would stay away from these, but that's just my experience.

I purchased this product because I wanted a pepper mill that was not plastic and didn't cost an arm and a leg. Wm. Bounds seemed to be a good brand and I assumed it would perform as advertised. I was mistaken. The finish is cheap. The ring that claims to be adjustable to three different grinds does not change grinds at all. No matter where it's set, the mill spews out a mixture of very coarse and very fine pieces. The ring is also not stainless steel, or metal at all, but plastic. It also takes a tremendous amount of turning just to get it to dispense pepper. It's pretty much a waste of money. I'm trying to decide now if I should replace it with a spice grinder or try another brand of pepper mill.

The cloth is actually a cotton gauze, not tightly woven as true flour sack cloth must be. These could be used as cheesecloth, but not for much else.

If you buy these for drying dishes, you'll be disappointed, but my reasons were different. Put them to work as reusable cheesecloth and they're perfect. The jumbo white towels are huge, and I was able to cut one of the towels down into four, one square perfect for lining a medium sized strainer. They're also really good for breadmaking. Really any application you need a light loose weave fabric.

Just a note, don't use fabric softener when washing these towels if you're using them for food prep. Fabric softener leaves a residue which you'll not want to include as part of your recipe!

The discription looks good but when received I was disappointed that the towels were so thin, almost like cheese cloth. I use flour sack towels as dish towels and for baking certain items (ex. rolling up pumpkin roll cakes) I can't use these in my baking but they work ok to clean windows.

These are light, thin, flour sack towels. The real deal. They are fantastic for the kitchen for wiping hands, etc. NOT heavy for wiping up spills. As long as you know what you are purchasing they are just as promised.

Initially disappointed. This is not the flour sack material that my grandmother had and used in her kitchen, i.e., from Gold Medal. It is doubtful that this material would hold flour, nearer to cheesecloth, and not very absorbent.

I bought these for washing dishes at home. I was sick of replacing sponges and trying to keep dishrags in good clean condition. These rinse easily and never smell. They're textured enough to help scrub away a mess but they won't scratch the pan. They do hold a stain after washing something icky but it washes out in the laundry. They don't hold water so I drip dry them over the sink so I don't get a puddle, and I do have to use a dishrag for wiping up the counter. They get in the crevices of my plastic leftovers containers way better than my sponges did. Very happy with this item!

Sometimes, it's the little things in life that count. Like never feeling like your dishes are dirtier after washing them than they were when you took them off the table.

These dishcloths (well, the first one the second one is still in reserve) have been the go-to dish scrubbers in my house for the past month or so, and so far, they've definitely lived up to their hype. They look a bit ragged (my fault they've got an open weave that snags on things like, mmm, my Microplane), but they're no less effective for the wear, and can be tidied up easily with a little lighter work.

Meanwhile, they scrub dishes wonderfully, hold onto soap just about the perfect amount of time (long enough to wash a lot of dishes, but losing it before it turns scary gray-brown), they clean up easily, they take up little space, are non-scratching, they feel pretty good to wash with, and best of all, *they don't stink!* That dirty sponge smell is a thing of the past, and good riddance! Oh, and the hang-loop is surprisingly handy especially when hung up that way, my Scrubr dries out quite quickly (which is good for you, bad for bacteria).

They also are great at getting into awkward little areas, like the gap underneath the blade of my food processor. And the fact that it's easy to get soap out of them when rinsing is actually quite handy it lets me use them to clean my cast iron without (much) fear, whereas I never could trust my sponges, or even my regular green scotchbrite pads.

My only "ding" is that they are a little prone to pilling, and to catching on things. I wouldn't recommend using them on coarse materials (like unglazed stoneware/earthenware), and to take care when cleaning directional sharp things like box graters and microplanes. And they're a little pricey.

But other than that, this is my new go-to, and I look forward to testing out my other one on my next camping trip crustiness, begone!

I love the plastic clip that allows it to dry while hanging off my back-pack.

When I received this product, it was a little bit different than what I expected, but this was not in any way a bad thing. I don't know really what I was picturing, but this dish cloth is about 4" x 5", and it's full of little holes so it's not completely solid like a towel.

This is slightly more abrasive than a sponge, but much less abrasive than a scotch-brite pad, which makes it ideal for counter tops and stove tops, but still safe for glassware, etc. It's also extremely thin and malleable so you can shape it to fit your immediate dish cleaning requirements. As others have mentioned, it does not smell even after continued use.

I don't think that this replaces your other dish cleaning tools (there are times when you really need a sponge to retain some moisture or suds), but it's a great alternative in many situations. I now use this more often than a sponge or scotch-brite pad.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program As I am a complete dork, and decided to review paper towels for vine, I decided to test these paper towels against the Kirkland signature brand (from Costco).

Note: at this update Kirklands cost per square foot(in-store) was .016 cents(+ tax) whereas Bounty on Amazon is .027 (+tax in some areas). However to get the convenience of online shopping (at least at the moment) you'd have to buy the kirland from a reseller, and the one on amazon brings the price up to .029/sq foot.

In order to evaluate both products I tested both products for water retention, use in cleaning up a spill with repeated wringing of the towels, and scrubbing of a spot on an abrasive surface (a carpet in this case). My goal was to establish which towel provides the best value and will preform best at normal, towely (I know thats not a word) tasks.

Water retention:

To test water retention I weighed a dry towel from each roll. I then soaked each towel in water and reweighed them. To account for the difference in size of the sheets I calculated a ratio of retention per square inch. Without boring anyone with the math, there did not appear to be any appreciable difference in water retention per square inch between the two rolls. Obviously the Kirkland towels held more water on an absolute basis, but basically they were the same.

Towel Sponginess:

I used each of the towels to clean up 1 cup (8 oz.) of cranberry juice, spilled on my kitchen floor, squeezing the towels out into the sink and then reusing them until the spill was cleaned up. I then rinsed and squeezed them out a few times to see if they could be made clean enough to actually rid the floor of any residue.

Again, both towels faired evenly. Each towel was more than up to the task of soaking up the spill and repeatedly wringing out the towels did not seem to have any effect on their integrity, or cause them to fall apart. Also neither towel was clean enough afterwards to make me feel that I could "clean" the floor with it, so I ended up using a second piece for this purpose. I did notice that the Bounty towel felt thicker than the Kirkland towel.

Scrubbing:

On an abrasive surface a difference became clear. After carefully wetting the towel and rubbing at a spot on the carpet the Kirkland towel began to fall apart, holes formed in the towel, the paper began to fray, essentially it wasn't up to the task. The Bounty roll on the other hand showed surprising durability, with just one sheet I was able to really scrub at a spot on the carpet, and only really vigorous scrubbing for a solid 30 seconds or longer began to cause the sheet to develop holes. It did not however fall apart in the same way as the Kirkland roll.

Conclusion:

From a price perspective they are both good values, a 12 pack of costco brand rolls cost around $18 and is therefore a better value if you are already a member, but its not worth it if your not. Meanwhile the Bounty huge roll costs $25 (perfect for super saver shipping), and no membership is required. I do find the smaller size of the Bounty sheets to be annoying. If I'm honest with myself I have to say that I usually don't wring out paper towel rolls when cleaning up spills and the smaller size of the bounty sheet always seems to be just a little too small for the job. I wish they would either alternate half sheets or make the sheets a little longer, because I end up using two sheets where one Kirkland sheet, or one and a half bounty sheets would do (this is why I docked a star). Overall though the bounty proved to be the better product, for scrubbing and that counts for a lot, also, its cheaper than buying 30 individual rolls of bounty (~$27 at the time of posting), and much more efficient (unless you have 30 rooms that need paper towel).

I'll start off by saying the product is fine it's the pricing that has me annoyed.

Not sure what's going on with the price but when I started ordering the 8-pack back in August of 2010 it was 16.14 on subscription. I was checking the status of my subscription to see when I was going to get the next shipment and I was taken aback by the fact 8-Packs are now priced at 30.32 on subscription. To make matters worse I see the 12-pack is 28.04. sheesh.. Just something to watch for if you have a subscription for items.

Comparing the current prices of the regular size and this size, per paper towel, you save a huge amount! And, as you are aware, Bounty is a very high quality paper towel. And, in this large size, the price compares nicely to even the cheaper paper towels, making it a great bargain!

I consistently use Bounty and Brawny Pick-A-Size Paper Towels, 15 BIG ROLLS (Equals 20 Regular Rolls) for my big jobs. I enjoy Brawny because you can tear off smaller (or larger) pieces, but I really don't like buying it at nearly double the cost of these!

I put one roll in my kitchen, where I have been cleaning up a lot of messes ... and still have most of the roll left. I took a second roll with me to Vacation Bible School where we've been cleaning up even bigger messes and spills, and the roll seems as huge as ever!

If you have a huge job coming up, or just like to have a big store of paper towels on hand, I feel that this is a wonderful choice!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'm a bulk buyer. I admit that I do it for the value it represents, both in money and time. AND right now, these Bounty Huge Rolls are a great deal.

Timewise, I love that I can buy these --this current lot came via Amazon's Vine program, of course-put them in the basement and not have to make multiple trips to the grocery store, lugging bulky paper towels to and from the car. This is especially true as we don't use many and 12 of these huge rolls should last us a year.

As for the size of the rolls, I think they're great. Being positively stingy with my time, I don't have to refill so often and I appreciate that. (I buy super sized TP as well because it annoys me to have to frequently refill :)

As for Bounty Towels, I know there are cheaper brands per foot, but in our experience is isn't worth buying them. For our spills, paint jobs, cat hairballs, etc., Bounty works better. You can scrub, rinse, squeeze out, and reuse most of the time. Which is definitely better than going through inferior towel after towel.

As for shipping, mine came in a large box with a long piece of wadded up paper. I don't know why the paper was there because the rolls are in a there own individual plastic cover, inside the larger plastic carrying cover, and it's unlikely that it could anything to protect the towels. (The kids flattened the paper out and drew on it. They are currently using the box as either a Tardis or a boat.)

THE only thing I could think that could make this better is that they have a pick-a-size option. Lets face it, some jobs are only half-a-sheet large, and we eco-frugal people only want to use the least we product we can.

The upside is that the price is excellent and you get some really nice paper towels (I usually buy Bounty unless the store has something else on sale). Let's face it: these are two major league reasons for getting this new product.

There really is only one downside, and this one will not affect everyone. The product arrives in a very, very, very big box. I mean, a huge box. If it is delivered at your home, you may not find this to be a problem. I personally have problems receiving a big box. I live in an apartment building and can't receive packages easily. So I have a P.O. Box where I get packages. It is hard for me to get large boxes home on the EL. So I had to take them home one roll at a time. I felt I should go into some detail about this because I'm sure others face the same situation that I do, where receiving packages is an issue.

But if you can receive big packages and want paper towels at a great price, these could be just the thing for you.

I originally got this dishcloth with my Lean Cuisine reward points. It is AMAZING The scrub corner is an ingenious idea and the best part is that it does dry quickly and there is no sour smell! No matter how much I would ring my dishcloth and hang it to dry in every way possible, it had a sour smell by the end of the day. I also used a sponge with the scrubber on one side and I just feel like I can't get all the bacteria out of the sponge. Needless to say I LOVE this dishcloth and bought one of every color, that was available, for myself and my girls for Christmas. I hope it is around for a long time.

These towels are the strangest towels I have ever used. They are 100% cotton, and they look thirsty and thick, but if you try to wipe up water on the counter or dry a glass, they just push the water around and dont' pick up ANYTHING! Very weird. It's like they're coated with some sort of silicone. I tried washing and drying repeatedly and nothing changes, they don't work as towels. If you are furnishing a set for a tv show or adding some color to a house for sale, these will work fine since they really are a nice color. If you want to use them, however, you'll be disappointed. Look somewhere else.

These cloths are a pretty colour, and they are true to the colour in the seller's picture.

They did seem to fade and shrink a bit after the first washing.

They don't absorb a lot of water when I use them to dry dishes. They work pretty well as washcloths though, and they do seem to dry quickly after being completely soaked. I think I'll buy a different item to dry dishes, but I'll keep these as washcloths.

After using these "dish cloths" as washcloths for a few months, I have some additions to make to my original review.

They work very nicely as washcloths. I have no complaints there. They are definitely not for drying dishes.

I have noticed that when used dry or damp, these washcloths do a pretty decent job of removing dried-on material that is difficult to remove with a sponge. I'm not talking about those awful grease stains though. Just the baked-on crusty stuff.

I love that they come in five different colors. I use different colors for different rooms of my house. I don't like to mix my kitchen cleaning with other more "dirty" cleaning like the floor or bathrooms. Like Bethee I also use these to remove my makeup at the end of the day. All of my windows and mirrors are streak-free! Just use water, no cleaners. I clean everything with these cloths including removing makeup from my face just using water...exfoliates as well. They are really absorbent, too, making spills a quick clean-up. These towels are not very thick but they really get things super clean. Just make sure you don't use fabric softeners when laundering them and dry them on low heat in the dryer. My first experience with these type of microfiber cloths was with another brand (Durafiber) and those were good but these are better! Highly recommend these towels if you want to save money.

Masslinn Shop Towel in White (12 Packs of 100) Reviews

Masslinn. It's a wonderful thing. I have worked at over a dozen nuclear power plants and at nuclear government facilities for over 30 years. If they have anything in common, it is masslinn. Masslinn is used as a wipe to test for contamination, as well as a method to remove contamination. This is my job and I generally walk around with a piece of masslinn folded up in my back pocket. My bad luck, sometimes I forget to take the masslinn out and it finds it way home with me.

Masslinn is essentially an oil impregnated dust cloth. When used it picks up dust and leaves a slight shiny oil film.

What I use it for:

1) This is great for the inside of your car. It removes the dust and leaves a shiny dash board, seats, etc.

2) I use this as a general dust cloth for small items, such as my displayed chess pieces. I simply pick up each piece and roll it around in my hand.

3) I use it on furniture when I don't feel like polishing.

4) Coupled with a masslinn mop, this works great on hardwood floors, removing dust, making them look shiny when you don't have time to wax and the in-laws are coming over.

5. I use it to remove dust from wall photos, fans, end tables, chess boards. Until last week, I have used it on my analog projection TV screen and plastic color projectors. I have also used it on my computer screen, and it still works.

6.) I use it on old dull record LP covers to make them look better. I suppose it might work on old baseball cards.

7.) This is great for all kinds of leather. I use it on my Easton Press leather covered books.

The masslinn cloth is double sided. I get an extended use out of it. Also they don't dry out like those other wet cloths that do everything. You can leave a pack open for years and it will still be effective. The cloth is super strong, but tears in one direction by hand, very easily.

WHAT IT IS NOT:

1) This is not an absorbent. It will absorb some water, but that is not its intended use. Water that comes in contact with masslinn for an extended period of time will turn yellow.

2) This is not a wipe for your kid or a napkin for your face.

3) This does not remove grime or ground in dirt. It is not a Swiffer Wet Jet. I have used both to clean and decontaminate linoleum. The Swiffer Wet Jet works better than masslinn. If you want something to remove the dust bunnies on your floor, the masslinn mop will work.

4) It does not really disinfect, although things look so shiny clean you would think it does.

These towels were very thin and not at all like the picture except they were white. Some of them were very dirty also. I'm sending them back. No wonder they were reduced in price. Not all dish towels are created equal. Some don't soak up all the liquid. Others leave lint behind. These do nothing of the sort. In short, they are the best towels I've ever used in the kitchen, and I have no plans to buy any other product ever again. Stick to what's best!

I ordered these towels to be used as a daily work horse in my kitchen. I love them. I use them to lay out dishes to dry, to dry my hands, to wipe things down. They bleach back to white no matter what I have done with them. They are absorbent ( a bit fibery on first use) and soft. The bundle of 24 means when one is dirty it goes right into my bleach water bucket and I grab a clean one. A great buy!!

These are exactly as the description says. White terry cloth, economical, 16x19. Washed twice and dried once to make them fluffy; beware they put out a LOT of terry fuzz balls the first time. Minimal to no shrinkage; the hems tightened up the most but give them a straightening tug and it's all flat again. Had some minor stringy fraying in a few places around the hems, too. Have not checked absorbancy yet but they feel like they'd be fine for normal use without excessive dripping. Tags are super easy to rip off by hand!

These are not quite as soft or as thick or as long as a nice standard kitchen terry towel but at $19.99 for TWO dozen, they are a must have. If basing stars on price and value they'd get 5 but as it's a straight up product review they rate as a 4. I have put this item through its paces. I cook--a lot. It has been dropped, thrown, baked in the dishwasher, almost baked in the oven (long story), and exposed to the rigors of angry handwashing.

It has come through with flying colors.

As for performance, I can't complain. It makes a nice even line, easily, and the crimped edge is perfect every time.

I usually like Wilton products, I really do. So when I finally decided let's upgrade from a fork to a real pastry blender, I found this one. Big mistake. Only two reasons why, but big enough for me to dislike this item immensely.

Issue one the tines are wire, not blades. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but you want to be cutting through the butter, shortening, etc. Dull wire just squashes the fats.

Issue two tines too close together. OK, if these were blades maybe it would be OK. But having so little clearance between them and being dull, well, using a plain old fork works a lot better than this thing.

My suggestion, purchase any pastry blender with blades and not wires and you will save lots of time and frustration.

It is wonderful... heavyweight (but not too heavy) and the two wheels allow you options for cutting. I have used it for both pasta and pie crusts and have to say it is way better than my old pastry cutter (the flimsy kind with a wooden handle).

I gave this 5 stars even though I have not used it long enough to say whether or not it will hold up over time, but it seems to be of a nice quality. I like the fact that it has both straight and crimped cutting wheels. The grip has a good feel to it and the blades work smoothly and are sharp. It also has a hole through the handle so I can hang it out of the way of my youngest when he is in 'helper' mode.

This is the best pastry blender ever. The handle fits very well and I love the easy clean blades. I found that the price on amazon was BETTER than in any retail store.
