Cleaning Cloth Diapers Is Easy!
There Are Several Ways To Clean Cloth Diapers, But One Is Easiest:
Though there are several ways to clean cloth diapers, the way you clean yours is up to your laundry preferences. The easiest, cleanest and fastest way is the DRY PAIL method. No matter which way you do it, cleaning cloth diapers is easy.
The Dry Pail Method to Clean Cloth Diapers
The first question is where to put a dirty cloth diaper until you’re ready to wash it. The answer is IN THE DRY PAIL! Put dirty diapers in a diaper pail that has a waterproof liner inside. Be sure to shake any solid bits into the toilet first! You can also buy a sprayer that attaches to your toilet via the back-side water lines that allows you to just spray off the pieces rather than shaking them!
Washing Cloth Diapers: Not As Bad As You Think!
Now, when clean cloth diapers are getting to be in short supply, it’s time to wash them! When you wash the diapers, also wash your pail liner to keep the mess and smell out of the pail! Just run a quick cold wash with no detergent first, or if your machine has a pre-soak feature you can do that too. This is just to, umm, break up what’s dried on. After this has been done, then just wash in hot water with detergent (dye and fragrance free is best), just like your tighty whities! Once clean, just throw them in the dryer on low heat. Even more eco-friendly is to dry them in the sun like mom used to do! Now you’re saving electricity AND landfills!
