I like being able to change the courseness of the grind so the William Bounds mills are a good pick. I have two pepper mills and a salt mill and they all work well and don't clog.

For the price, I was disappointed with the build quality of this grinder. Way too much plastic. Even the metallic casing is chromed plastic.

The inside motor and burrs are of decent quality, producing a consistent grind, but are very LOUD.

The grind settings are adjusted with a knob, continuous with no detents. The grinder shipped with the grind setting too coarse for espresso, but this was easily adjusted by removing the bean hopper and rotating the entire coarseness scale one or two stops. Unfortunately, and without much pressure, the plastic around one of the hopper's screw holes cracked slightly when screwing the hopper back on, so be careful. A different style of screw, softer plastic, or better hopper design would probably prevented this.

The grind bin slides on rather stiffly, but affirmatively, preventing any grinds from escaping during grinding. Removing grinds from the bin is a bit awkward due to the bin's shape, but not that big of a deal.

I decided I couldn't stand the noise anymore, so I bought a Rancilio Rocky. My Rocky is much heavier and better constructed, and much quieter as well. For just a little more than the Pavoni, it is a far better design.

The Pavoni now collects dust on a shelf.

I have been using my PGB for about 10 years; it works very well with no problems. A great virtue of the model I have (hope this is still true) is the ability to grind directly into the espresso basket, turning on the machine with simple pressure from the basket; this enables one to grind just the coffee needed with no reservoir to empty or clean, and more assurance that a minimum of old ground coffee will join that which is freshly ground.

I'm quite satisfied with the excellent grind consistency and quality. The brass La Pavoni PGB Coffee Grinder is close to being a commercial grade burr grinder -equal to those found in Europe's espresso bars and restaurants. Be aware that the brass finish is "plated" over hard plastic, so carefully inspect your new grinder before using it. I had to return mine twice to the retailer back east, before a perfect one arrived. I've used mine daily for more than three years without any issues.

Just a quick note to Patricia O'Connor who considered it "a piece of junk." With proper care & regular cleaning, the La Pavoni PGB Coffee Grinder will last a lifetime. -smile-

I tried this unit at a friend's house recently. It was strong, solid, and could really pulverize those beans. Too much for me to purchase, but I bring my whole beans next door to grind precisely to my taste. La Pavoni certainly does it right.

This is the 3rd Tre Spade we have had. (We wear them out) It works well and provides a very nice grind. Only complaint--it's noisy. But, then again, I guess it has to be to grind those coffee beans.

We bought this because it looked fun and wanted to try something new and natural for scrubbing dishes. The loofah is effective for scrubbing most items and it is certainly non-abrasive. It will be safe for all non-stick items but may not be effective for stubborn stains. The one surprise is the size. Look at the dimensions. we expected a smaller scrubbing pad but when wet, it wells to a larger size.

I bought the griddler in February of 2005 and have taken care to ensure it lasts. The Griddler is heavy and sturdily constructed. It heats up quickly, and cleans up even faster. We have used it for Panini, grilling meat, and toasting burger buns. The griddler comes with interchangeable dishwasher safe griddle and grill plates. The unit can be used as a Panini press or as a griddle.

The base of the unit heats up and maintains temperature better than the top. This creates uneven toasting of the Panini or other items. It's not so much of a problem using as a griddle, since one side will simply cook faster than the other.

After a year the nonstick surface has started pealing off of the grill plates. I have never used metal on the nonstick surface and have taken great care to preserve the finish. Perhaps it is in the design, but the now I will have to take care not to get pieces of the nonstick surface in my food. The plates don't stay attached in the top anymore either. It's very annoying trying to reposition a hot plate into place.

On the surface, the Griddler has the looks and design to be a great product. Cuisinart has some bugs to work out to attain even heating and plates that last. If I were to buy a new Panini press, I would not look to Cuisinart again.

PROS:

I just replaced my Griddler (older model with 4 plates and separate drip cups), with the newly designed Griddler Gourmet. My huge complaint was the uneven cooking, I also did not like having to store the extra set of plates and the 2 drip cups. The old model had the heating element only around the outer edge, leaving anything toward the middle under cooked (VERY uneven cooking). I was at Costco, and saw the new designed one (the Griddler Gourmet). I thought it was GENIUS to make the plate reversible, and integrate the drip cups. Then I popped off the plates and saw that they now have the heating element coming in toward the middle. I got it, and LOVE it now!!!! This new design took away ALL the things I did not like about my older one. It cooks SO even now (don't have to rotate food at all), and I don't have extra parts to store (at least not until I get the optional waffle plates!!!). Anyway, if you are looking at this, get it. It really does work wonderfully!!!

I wanted a Breville but bought this instead at half the price, mainly because the plates (it has two flat and two ridged) pop out and can be easily washed off at the sink. But Cuisinart would have you believe it's more versatile than it really is: the right and left temperature knobs control both heating elements and the center knob merely activates the right or left control. They both do the same thing, and could just as well be replaced by one "Off/Temp" control. I mention this because mine failed after 30 days one of the thermostats stuck closed and the thing almost caught on fire. Too many points of failure, thanks to the marketing people.

The surfaces are that sandy-gritty nonstick, not as easily cleaned as most. Other than that, it works well and I use mine often.

I bought this grill last week & it is WONDERFUL! Every time we make something to eat we think about grilling it. Last night we made grilled stuffed burritos. They were GREAT! Better than any we have eaten anywhere. I love the temp dials. Having the on/off dial is great. I can leave it pluged in & turn it on as needed. I looked for a few months before I decided on this one. I am sooooo glad I did. Hope you all enjoy yours as much as we do.

Bought this for my wife, who liked the idea of being able to open it flat and use it as a pancake griddle in addition to making panini. My initial impression was mixed, the whole unit seemed sort of a compromise between a real griddle and a real panini maker. Wasn't impressed by the fact that the indicator lights are barely visible under typical kitchen lighting. The real bummer, however, is that the unit failed after only about six uses; neither heating element will stay on for more than a fraction of a second as though some sensor thinks the griddle has over-heated.

I wasn't as impressed with these canisters as I had hoped, not for the price. They have the look I wanted, but not the quality I had hoped. They are very light and the top piece is cheap plastic. I have compared them to some I had almost purchased at Bed, Bath & Beyond. For the same price, I could've got heavy duty containers with glass tops. But they do seal well, so they perform their main purpose. Also, be careful when washing them (I recommend hand washing, I don't think they will withstand a dishwasher), the water kind of gets trapped between top piece and the rubber ring that seals the cannister. You have to dry really well or water will leak into the cannister.

These stainless steel canisters are just what I needed. They seal very well and are a good size for things like brown sugar, rice, oatmeal, coffee, tea, etc. I bought the larger one for sugar and flour. My only complaint would be that the lids are sometimes a little crooked and have to be lined up before they are latched.

These look great, but are cheaply made. I already had to return these once because they were dented as soon as they were unpackaged! After use they fall apart! The silicone seal warped and fell off, which means that the canisters can't seal tightly. The plastic rim around the lid also cracked easily.

Splurge a little and buy a better quality set!

I love a good airtight container, and these are really great. The only kind like these that I ever see are usually plastic, and I don't want plastic. Granted the lids are ACRYLIC (not "cheap plastic" like one review said), but as long as they are BPA free, I don't mind. I'm a penny pincher as much as I can be, and I found this set at Salvation Army for 6 dollars, they are in brand new condition, and I know they will last me a good long time, while keeping my baking ingredients tightly sealed =)

Purchased as a gift for my wife. It was the only one I could find that would accomodate larger pistol grip knives. Amazon shipped quickly and when the package was opened it looked beautiful until the lid was opened and it slid back away from the base. Inspection revealed that the hinges had broken away from the lid which appeared to be made of a cheap cardboard like fiberboard that certainly would not have held up over time.

Amazon is great regarding the return, and although I had initially ordered a replacement, I thought better of it,Williamsburg by Reed & Barton Tarpley Flatware Storge Chest Holds Service for 18 and cancelled the replacement order. This doesn't appear to be an item that will last.

I got this when I got a set of flatware. Got the floor display version, still wrapped but a small nick in the finish on the inside of cover. For about half price that.s fine, I could have easily nicked the cover myself in normal use.

It is cotton, but I have lots of rags like this and it doesn't make as nice of a rag as a diaper-type cotton, especially for dusting.

This peppermill that I just purchased is a replacement of my previous William Bounds mill that I had for 20 long years. My heart sank when it broke because it had provided 20 years of unfailiy reliability. The grinding mechanism still worked but the casing is what had broken. I bought this new one which is shorter but looks identical to my previous but taller mill. I love it just as much as my old friend and hopefully we will have many many years of great cooking together.

My husband and I received this as an anniversary gift, and it works perfectly. My complaint is that this is definitely not copper, but rather an orange colored stainless steel. If you add this to a kitchen that has actual copper pots, pans or accessories, it will stick out like a sore thumb due to its artificial color. Unfortunate, as I otherwise would recommend it.

My wife and I have owned our Bounds Professional Copper Peppermill for 10 years now. It finally broke tonight. I immediately ordered a new one without hesitation. I have used many pepper mills in my days but this one was always my favorite. Most others that I have owned have broken within a year. You simple can't match the quality of this unit. It has a solid feel and the copper's lustre is never lost so it always looks great. It was a pleasure to own and I will be sad for the next few days until my new one arrives.

I've been eyeing this mill off for quite a while, hoping it would complement our Mauviel copper pans, & finally decided we had to have it when it went on sale... Just arrived, & cannot tell you how disappointing it is. It's horrible! This is NOT COPPER, but rather some kind of alloyed metal in a copper colour, seemingly coated in a weird (plastic?) finish could even be entirely plastic for how light & cheap it looks & feels. Perhaps there's a small percentage of copper in the alloy, but it's by no means a beautiful, heavy, cool to touch, true metal item. Description is completely misleading. Entirely unsatisfactory, don't waste your time or money. I'll be returning it!

I was expecting a much smoother grind based on other reviews. This grinder works ok, but the grinding mechanism leaves something to be desired. I'll use it until it breaks, but honestly, those grinders you find in the spice aisle of Sam's or Costco work just as well or better. Save your money.

I bought some of these about 2 years ago and couldn't find any more anywhere. when I saw these I ordered them right away. They dry dishes faster than any of the cotton towels. They hold the water. Best towels for the dishes, drying your hands, soaking up water, or even drying the car. Once you try them you won't go back to the cotton towels.

I actually like doing dishes, but drying them... not so much. The absorbency of these towels makes me wonder "How do they do that?" though I probably don't really want to know (microfiber probably has a longer half life than uranium and will be found in archaeological ruins 5000 years from now). So... I leave them in my will, my children will think I'm really cheap (or senile), and then they'll use them... and love me even more.
