The mesh is great for scrubbing at dried on dirt on dishes or counter tops, but rinses clean easily. These sponges dry out quickly if you ring them out, so they aren't breeding bacteria and smells between dish washings. After a few days, I toss them in the laundry basket and wash them with my kitchen towels. They're a bit stiff out of the dryer, but are soft and flexible again as soon as you get them wet. I plan to buy more of these and never buy another cellulose sponge again.

like the eco friendliness of washing the sponges. they are more attractive and sanitary than the moldy holy cheap ones.

These wash well. The size is perfect for washing dishes and countertops. Although I have only used them for a month, I do think that they will last quite a long time.

Maybe it said it in the description and I missed it, but these don't scrub for squat. They are bigger than I would like for a dish sponge, too, but will have uses for other things.

I love these sponges, but what's up with the extreme price increase? I last purchaed these on 6/7/13 and they were $5.99 and now they are $9.91! Hard to repeat buy when you feel like you're being ripped off...
