I needed a pastry cloth and rolling pin cover to make my great-grandmother's cookies. Little did I realize I'd be using this set every time I pull out my rolling pin.I am a seasoned cook (pardon the pun), but never used a rolling pin cover or pastry cloth before. I can't believe I've been baking all these years without it! It makes rolling things out soooo easy. I'm going to get two, just to keep them handy.
The pastry cloth is quite large I was able to roll out a pizza crust on the cloth with room to spare.
The rolling pin cover should fit nearly all rolling pins. I found it to be a wee bit longer than my (great-grandmother's) rolling pin, so I just trimmed it a little.
Get this product. It's inexpensive, works great, and as if that's not good enough, it's made in the USA.

I've used a pastry cloth and rolling pin cover for years until I finally wore mine out and needed a new one. There is nothing like cloth to help pastry roll out thin easily. This set is well-made and worked great the first time I used it. The cloth remained very stiff after washing, though, and I had to iron it to get the wrinkles out. (Can't roll pastry on wrinkles.) It may take several washings to get the stiffness out.Honest reviews on Regency Pastry Cloth and Rolling Pin Cover Set
Sorry, but I totally disagree with all of the 5-star reviews on this piece of worthless krap. I'm probably just prejudiced because I'm used to a much higher quality pastry cloth (that's no longer available). For 34 years I've had an Aunt Chick's pastry cloth. It's exceptionally heavy, large (20" x 26"), and actually hemmed (none of these serged edges that are so common today).I could have gone down to my local fabric store and bought the same light-weight canvas that this Regency cloth is made of. It's nothing exceptional and that's what I *thought* I was buying based on all of the 5-star reviews...something exceptional.
At the same time that I purchased this cloth, I also purchased another R & M Heavyweight Pastry Cloth and Rolling Pin Cover Set (http://www.amazon.com/Heavyweight-Pastry-Cloth-Rolling-Cover/dp/B001TM9YTQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1294335365&sr=8-2) and the difference between them is instantly obvious. Although the R & M cloth still doesn't measure up to my old Aunt Chick's cloth, it's a much better quality than the Regency. It's more tightly-woven and the threads are finer (ergo, less chance of your dough sticking to the cloth if properly floured).
Also, although it says that this cloth is 20 x 24, it's only 19.5" x 23.5" (whereas the R & M one actually IS 20 x 24). That may not be of any significance for others, but for me it makes quite a difference as there's less space to work on. I wanted to "blame" this on the Regency possibly being made in China. Alas! It's made in the U.S.A. (Dallas?!)
It's going back to Amazon today.
