We are very happy with this purchase, it's solid and has a nice finish to it. We have been collecting some fine French flatware over the years and this is a perfect place to put it. I think this is a very quality product and I highly recommend it.

This flatware chest features beautiful wood inlay on the lid, complete with an inlaid border around the edge. The inlaid urn in the center is truly magnificent, with subtle shading, and is the main reason we purchased the chest, which does not disappoint in person. It's truly an elegant chest, and fitting for 18th Century style decor.It holds service for 12, and easily handles large utensils. The drawer holds a decent amount of serving spoons, etc.
As a fan of fine furniture (Kindel, etc) the construction of this is not at that level, but few things are these days. I found the lid to fit well, and the general construction quality of the "box" itself was good. The lid is the star of the show, however.
When loaded with silverware it is large and heavy, so make sure you have a place to store it.
We would purchase this chest again.
