This was a Christmas gift for my daughter, who is very particular about both looks and function for kitchen items. This pepper mill was a big hit in both categories.

I love how this looks and works. The only slight issue is it leaves some pepper on the table after using it and putting it down. I love it so much otherwise that I don't let this bother me!

We used this mill lightly for only 10 months before it died. The problem is that the head turns the shaft via a soft metal nut (looks like aluminum) that grips the shaft via shallow splines. The splines in the nut stripped, so turning the head does nothing. I'll probably ask the manufacturer for a new nut, but I'd expect it to strip, too, after a while. They need to find a stronger way to connect the head to the shaft. Too bad, because otherwise the mill is handsome and feels solidly built.
Honest reviews on William Bounds HM Proview Pepper Mill, Red
I researched all pepper mills in this price range looking for a mill that works well and was attractive. I am very pleased with my purchase. The red color is beautiful and is a nice pop of color in my black and white kitchen and matches well with my red clock and stools. The mill works beautifully offering three grind settings by rotating the metal ring and clicks into place at each setting. I use the course setting mostly for my cooking and I like that it grinds it truly course. The fine setting is a true fine setting (just know that if you had the mill set on "course" you will have to grind a couple of rotations before the fine setting kicks in). Absolutely no complaints; I love my red pepper mill!

My wife researched reviews of pepper grinders on the web after our last one broke. We decided on this William Bounds grinder as the best reviewed, but not outrageously expensive. Good choice. We both like coarse ground fresh pepper and this grinder does it exactly to our taste -almost like peppercorns cracked in a mortar.
