The squirrel nutcracker is really cute, but the tail is really loose and rattles which make it seem cheap. You have to work a lot harder at cracking a nut than you should have to with this. I gave it away as a white elephant gift at Christmas. I really wanted to keep it for myself if the tail had have been tighter and it work easily. Most items I purchased on Amazon were better than this.

I purchased this squirrel nut cracker for my husband as a gift. Not only does he enjoy it, but it has given my granddaughters many fun experiences with their grandfather. The squirrel actually holds the nut and can also crack open the nut. It is a great display and conversation piece as well. Any person who loves nuts would enjoy this nutty squirrel.

The squirrel is cute and works great on larger nuts, but small nuts are more difficult simply because you have to get them into the jaws just right and hold it until you clamp it down. Larger nuts can sit on their own and is much easier. It takes some practice, but it does the job. And it has cuteness on its side.

if you are looking for decoration it is fine but if you really want it to crack a nut I would buy a regular nut cracker. The tail does not stay up like it does in the picture. very poorly made
