I just wish i would have gotten this sooner. No more soaked towels by the sink or water draining of the dish rack. Great itemBest Deals for The OriginalTM Dish Drying Mat - Microfiber Absorbent Machine
I use this when I step out of the shower to protect my hard wood floors. Then I hang it over the shower to dry.Honest reviews on The OriginalTM Dish Drying Mat - Microfiber Absorbent Machine
This pad offers a nice cushion for receiving all those things that don't go in the dishwasher: super-large serving bowls, stemware, etc. While it serves that task well, the items will never dry inside. It may be due to the spongy material between the fabric pieces or whatever scientific principle applies, but bowls, cups, containers will *always* remain wet inside so you have to dry each item.In addition, the mat has to be air dried as it retains moisture and feels like a soaked sponge when used; putting it in the clothes dryer doesn't get it dry. Otherwise, it's fine.

I've had a standard dish drying rack for so long that this concept has taken a a little getting used to.It's basically a mat that has microfiber on the two outer sides and has an absorbent layer inside. It's a waffle-type weave so air can circulate. It's big -18 x 24" is pretty substantial, but I like that I can put it away or hang it up to dry when I'm done, and when I need to, I can wash it. I tossed (actually I put it in the recycle bin) our old dish board that went under the dish rack immediately...I'm tired of seeing that awful mess every day. I almost wish we could get another one, since I hang ours up to dry overnight and then bring it out for use in the morning. When I have the mat hanging up to dry, I might invest in the three pack so I have one on the counter at all times and have spares on hand for holidays and parties. A dishtowel would suffice, were it not for the varnished wood trim and the grout paint that's part of our kitchen countertops...if any moisture gets on it, the finish gets ruined. With the Dish Drying Mat, NONE of the moisture gets out and onto our kitchen countertops!
So far, it's been about three weeks since we've been using it and I haven't noticed any discoloration. However, there is a faint "sour" smell, like wet laundry that has sat in the washer too long. I don't really know how to remedy this so will try to use Oxy Clean on it next time I wash it and then I'll Lysol it and hang it outside to dry. I'll let you know if that works.
I take care NOT to put any washed pots and pans that might have residue on this, those go in the dishwasher to drip dry. Like I said before, I also allow it to dry overnight, I hang it up so air completely circulates. I dont' trust it to dry by itself on the counter. If people are over, it's OK when it's out, it actually visually blends in with the tile, it's a cream-colored white and very attractive.
Great item, very pleased to have ordered it. And I liked the seller too. Fast & friendly transaction!
